About

c.w. Pickett grew up in a time when kindness and civility shaped daily life, and violence was something heard about on the news—not lived. Through her writing, she invites readers to return to that sense of shared humanity, even as she confronts the complex roots of violence in modern society.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Science from the University of Wyoming and a master’s in healthcare administration from Bellevue University in Nebraska. A certified instructor in traditional Okinawan karate, Pickett has spent decades teaching women’s self-defense, supporting veterans, and advocating for children with special needs. The voices of women who found strength through her classes echo throughout her work, offering powerful, personal insights into resilience and survival.

Drawing on over twenty years of research and lived experience, Pickett’s work blends social commentary with practical guidance. Her books are shaped not only by academic study but also by deeply personal trials—including caring for her husband after a traumatic brain injury and raising her granddaughter, who has autism. These experiences gave her firsthand exposure to the failures of the systems meant to support those in need, especially in rural communities like Wyoming. Her work calls for solutions that are sustainable, compassionate, and long overdue.

Pickett is the founder of Pickett’s Reflections, LLC—a mission-driven organization dedicated to building families and touching lives.
